The day included musical performances, tributes to military veteran family members of students and history lessons about our nation.

The day included stops at buildings across the Lancaster Central School District, where they greeted former teachers and were cheered by current students in the schools.

Students and staff in the Lancaster Central School District came together to support the Lancaster Youth Bureau's Day of Giving. The day provides gifts, food and decorations to local families.

Alessandra Bauer, a 2012 Lancaster High School graduate, is a social worker at Como Park Elementary School. She launched the Como Park Cares Closet, which shares food and hygiene products with students and families of the school.
